Welcome to my home page.
My name is Michael Chourdakis, and I was born in Greece in 1977. All my life is assosiated with my passions: Music, Technology, Programming, and Travelling.
I'm a senior, seasoned musician, teacher and full-stack developer with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Signal Processing. I work in music since the 90s in various fields, including teaching, performing, composing and app-developing with Artificial Intelligence.
Since 2022, I am married to Sylvia, the one and only woman that managed to change my life. I met her in 2017, the happiest year in my life.

Back in the 90s I loved to play all point-and-click Adventure Games. I 've played many Sierra games (like Gabriel Knight, Larry, Kings Quest, Laura Bow) and Infogrames games (Alone in the Dark, Shadow of the Comet, Prisoner of Ice) and various others.
Nowadays I don't anymore have time to play such a game, but I do create video movies of those games. See the Adventure Game Movies.
When I was young, back in the 90s, I used to be an outstanding performer, having performed various works of Beethoven, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Chopin, Tschaikowsky and Liszt.
I favored heavily the romantic era, especially Fr. Liszt's works.
However, in 2000 I decided to drop that part of music and work on DSP and artificial intelligence, so there was no more time for piano performance.
The few recordings from that era I still have now are of bad quality, but I 've managed to work on AI restoration of them. Here 's a demo:
I still practice a bit of composing, but nothing very much serious. I have a bunch of manuscripts here I may someday transfer to the PC. But I always get inspired by many romantic melodies.
Like this:
In the past, I had created various music tools such as Midi Controller Pro for iOS, DMX Controller and Remote ASIO monitor.
All of them eventually emerged into Turbo Play and my my PhD.
In my PhD (2004 - 2012) I invented a working melody recognition model with thousands of testing sources. I was able to transcript melody from european and byzantine recording.
Here are some examples:
Since 2003 I teach music in the secondary-level education in Greece. From 2003 to 2012 I 've taught thousands of pupils (age 13-16) into the wonders of music technology. From 2012 till now I work in the Music School of Alimos.
I also teach adults into e-goverment, music technology, education technology and technology in general. I'm an adult educator at national Ministry of Education level since 2019.
I also participate in a lot of Ministry of Education commitees, related to the exams, the education system, the books policy, the technology in general and the music education in Greece.
Since 2020 I 'm a member of the Scientific Committee for Music Education in Greece.
Since 2012 I work as a music teacher in Music School of Alimos. I teach modern music theory, sound and video engineering and programming to students aged 16-18. I have a large class of high-educated, capable students that have created lots of audio and video productions.
For my e-goverment work in Music School of Alimos, I was awarded the "Digital Award 2022" award by the Ministry of Digital Governance in Greece. More about the award here.
I own a large number of coins from all around the world. Ranging from low-value ancient greek coins (which I imported to Greece in 2010 and legally authorized by the Ministry of Culture to keep) to today's modern coins.
More photos to come soon. In the picture, the first coin of my collection, the Spanish 25 ptas 1982 coin. Ancient coins video here:
I own a large number of banknotes from all around the world.

Turbo Play is a professional-targeted large scale Video, Image, Audio, Animation editor and content creator. It contains more than 20 years of accumulated knowledge in Digital Signal Processing, Windows Programming, AI and C++.
Back in 2004 I visualized an all-in-one application with AI features. Yet the project didn't start until 2020.
Now, this application practically contains all my life in the PC science, which includes Audio Engineering, Image Effects, Video Editing, and AI features. It contains over 20 third-party downloadable AI modules with over 100GB in total size.
GPSComplete is a unique bridge between GPS sensors found in modern PCs, mapping applications and legacy COM applications.
Based on my well-known Turbo GPS Android Application (which reached 700.000 users back in 2013...), it is now offering mapping professionals an opportunity to combine legacy hardware with newer software.
The client base of GPSComplete is more than 100 large-scale clients.
MSA-APPS.COM (Greek) is a heavy school administration network with over 125 applications targetted at teachers, students, parents and the administration. For the first time in the history in Greece, it facilitated and automated most school paperwork.
For this work, I was awarded the "Digital Award 2022" award by the Ministry of Digital Governance in Greece. More about the award here.
I have written over 70 programming articles in CodeProject, including articles about:
- C++
- Intel Assembly
- Android development
- iOS development
- Web development
- Windows development
- PHP
- Python
- AI
The Greek Ministry of Digital Governance organizes a contest each year, in which the best applications that enhance the citizen's experience in digital affairs are praised. For my work in MSA-APPS.COM in Music School of Alimos, I was awarded this award in October 2023.
More on it (greek) here.
I have visited over 50 countries and I love photography and sightseeting (one of the reasons I developed Turbo Play!).

I have various YouTube playlists.
